“Show Racism the Red Card is saddened to hear of the allegations of offensive communications between former Cardiff City Football Club manager Malky Mackay and former Head of Recruitment, Iain Moody.

“Show Racism the Red Card condemns all forms of discrimination and we believe that comments of a racist, sexist or homophobic nature have no place in football or in society as a whole.

“The campaign supports a full and thorough investigation by the Football Association into this matter.

“Education is the most effective tool for challenging racism. Issues of discrimination in football underline the importance of anti-racism education for all members of society, including role models and those in positions of influence.

“Show Racism the Red Card would like to take the opportunity to remind readers that the views of an individual do not reflect the views of an entire football club.

“Show Racism the Red Card Wales enjoys an excellent relationship with Cardiff City and is extremely grateful for the support the campaign has received from the club. Going forward, the campaign hopes to further develop this partnership and will continue to hold educational events for young people at the Cardiff City Stadium.”
