Ginny Burfield, Suffolk County Council Advisory Teacher for Equality and Minority Ethnic Attainment, was very pleased with the success of the three teacher training events commissioned for Suffolk schools. [See event agenda]

"Teachers were all really positive about the training from Show Racism the Red Card. In particular, they liked the chance to share schools' issues in a non-judgmental environment and they learned so much. They really appreciated the dynamic delivery style of the presenters.

"For me it was brilliant to see so many teachers inspired to make schools a place where prejudice and intolerance will have no place. People went away from the training day with more confidence in their knowledge and ability to positively challenge prejudice without creating confrontation."

Show Racism the Red Card delivers bespoke anti-racism training days. We tailor our teacher training events to the needs of individual groups. The days are structured around interactive workshops which explore issues such as the barriers faced by teachers in tackling racism and promoting equality; responding to racist incidents, and embedding race equality into the curriculum. Opportunities for discussion and reflection on existing practice are built into the day and teachers are encouraged to share their concerns.

We are able to deliver in-house training for up to 25 delegates, or can organise a conference for up to 75 attendees. Please contact jo@theredcard.org or sarah@theredcard.org for more information.
